Power Rangers Lightning Collection Master Morpher Confirmed in Leaked Images

The legendary morpher for Tommy Oliver is expected to debut as part of the Hasbro Pulse Con event but images of the Lightning Collection Master Morpher have already appeared on social media.

This is the first confirmation of the unique morpher that was featured in the 25th Anniversary special episode and the Soul Of The Dragon one shot comic. The images also reveal what is included in the set and some of the highlighted functions of the toy.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers debuted their Sixth Ranger in Episode 17, which starred Jason David Frank as Tommy Oliver. Due to the character’s popularity, Tommy Oliver made his return despite his original character arc ending. This led to Tommy gaining more Ranger powers throughout Power Rangers history. The Master Morpher was unique to Power Rangers since it allowed Tommy to call upon all five of his Ranger forms, as seen in the Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel episode, ‘Dimensions in Danger’.

It also appeared in the Boom! Studios comic written by Kyle Higgins with Jason David Frank as a special consultant. Power Rangers: Soul Of The Dragon featured Jason David Frank’s special Morpher and acted as the last story arc for the character. This special instalment also saw the powers inherited by Tommy’s son, JJ, as he becomes the Green SPD Ranger while his father retires. More content for the legendary Ranger has recently appeared including the Master Morpher user added to Power Rangers: Legacy Wars.

First Look at the Master Morpher

The box for the upcoming Power Rangers Lightning Collection Master Morpher was released on social media by Toy Scope. The leaked box image of the Master Morpher shows that the new toy will include six Power Coins and stand as part of the set. The toy will also feature the colour changing lights as seen for the Pink and Yellow Versions of the Lightning Collection Power Morpher, as each coin unlocks a corresponding Ranger colour. Art of Jason David Frank as Tommy Oliver in the ‘Dimensions in Danger’ Episode as part of the 25th Anniversary of Power Rangers can also be seen on the box.

This marks the first time that the Master Morpher has been officially released as part of the Power Rangers toyline. The Master Morpher will also include gold plating, the red and black deco and the green tinted lens as seen in the series. Many features have yet to be revealed including possible lines, scores, and music related to the character.

As Power Rangers celebrates their 30th Anniversary, no better release could celebrate such a huge milestone. Although the loss of Jason David Frank impacted many around the world, it is a joy to see his iconic Morpher finally given a toy release. It is also brilliant to see that the Falcon Power Coin is included with the set but it will be curious to see if the Lord Drakkon Coins are ever released in the future. This will be a highly desired collector’s item and fans should expect more to be revealed soon.

The release date for the Power Rangers Lightning Collection Master Morpher has yet to be confirmed. The upcoming release is expected to be fully unveiled during Hasbro Pulse Con on September 22nd, 2023, with preorders going live after the event airs the reveal.
