Ohsama Sentai KingOhger unleashes a promotional poster as the Super Sentai series announces the next chapter for the remaining episodes.
The new publicity has revealed that the 47th Sentai series will continue the story two years into the future as they head into space. Along with a new appearance for the reigning kings, a new threat has emerged as their peace ends sooner than expected. Further details regarding the series have been revealed including changes to production and the story after recently aired events.
Ohsama Sentai KingOhger is already 25 episodes into its run but fans have already been treated to many debuts including God KingOhger. The huge combination includes all 20 Shugods, however, the story seems to already be concluded as the Bugnarak are nearly defeated. With the current storyline finishing up so soon, questions regarding the remaining episodes have been a puzzle. One leaked addition expected is the Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger crossover, which has been revealed to be a new Kyoryujin that can combine with the Shugod line.
Two Years Later
Ohsama Sentai KingOhger will now continue two years later as the six kings take their stage to space, against a new foe. A new chapter will begin in September and teases new looks for the characters and reveals growth for each. The next instalment of the series will also mark the first time a Toei tokusatsu film will be filmed using a new method. This is due to the production using 3DCG virtual production and live compositing technology. The new enemy has also been teased as the “King of The Universe” who rules the entire universe, with much more to be revealed soon.
Gira (Taisei Sakai), who previously dressed more like a teen, will have longer hair and wear the clothes of a mature king. Yanma (Aoto Watanabe) has had a makeover as previously seen on social media, with a golden regent look. Himeno (Erica Murakami) will become more active and now has orange hair. Rita (Yuzuki Hirakawa) will feature short cut hair, while Kaguraghi (So Kaku) will have his hair down and become wilder. Jeramie (Masashi Ikeda) will now don a cloak as an awakened King, while also revealing more of his Bugnarak arm.
Many details have yet to be revealed, including the villains, but this is a fantastic new chapter for fans to be excited about. The appearance changes were gradually teased on social media by the cast but their new look already shows so much character development. Ironically, KingOhger will venture into space at the same time the Power Rangers franchise does the same with Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. However, the story perfectly suits the lore as the planet is now united by the six kings.
The story also finally grants a clearer idea of why the 47th Sentai could meet the 37th team, with Kyoryuger expecting to announce 10th anniversary material as part of KingOhger. This also gives further indirect evidence that Kyoryuger has already been linked with KingOhger, with Episode 21 of the 10 year old Dino series including a hidden mind blowing easter egg. It will be exciting to see how much each character has changed, while also seeing what foe will be awaiting in space.
Ohsama Sentai KingOhger will continue with Episode 26, which airs in Japan on August 27th, 2023 on TV-Asahi. More details regarding the next chapter will be revealed as the episode airs, with Episode 27 likely starting the next instalment on September 3.
