In this edition of the Power Rangers Hyperforce Recap, we will continue with Chapter Four where the Rangers fight against the escaping A-Squad Rangers, learn the personal history of specific Rangers, and meet reformed mutant, Ransik.
HyperRPG’s TTRPG series collaborated with Saban Entertainment to create a canon and original story of time travelling Power Rangers as they face the Alliance of Evil. Each episode of the series was three hours long and featured many interactions with in depth stories. With the upcoming release of Power Rangers Unlimited: Hyperforce #1, we are going to dive into major events that occurred in the first part of the chapter before the Shattered Grid event.
Power Rangers Hyperforce was an original series created by HyperRPG as a tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) live stream experience. The live stream aired as a web series on HyperRPG’s Twitch channel, featuring as a sequel to Power Rangers Time Force. The series included a talented cast consisting of Ranger series actors and iconic personalities, led by Malika Lim Eubank as the Game Master (GM) and storyteller. The game system that was used to determine the success of actions and combat was created by the Game Master, which centred around six sided dice.
Warning: The following overview of events doesn’t include significant moments of the Rangers individually. This includes detailed occurrences, in game outtakes, and character moments that would be lost to interoperation without watching, so ensure to check out Episodes 16 to 18 of Power Rangers Hyperforce for yourself.
Beginning the Fourth Chapter
The fourth chapter of Power Rangers Hyperforce is a featured filled sequence of episodes as the Hyperforce Rangers fight the evil A-Squad Rangers, discover Vesper’s past, meet a reformed Ransik, and help a Super Megaforce Ranger before they enter the dimension of The Coinless. The guest players for the chapter include Yoshi Sudarso portraying Joe Shih/Time Force Silver, and Cameron Jebo as Orion/Super Megaforce Silver. The Chapter also features episodes 16 to 20, with part one containing the first three episodes.

With Joe recovering in the medical bay, the Hyperforce Rangers follow the stolen Time Ship two years into the future. In the year 2027, they arrive at an offworld S.P.D. correctional facility on the planet Y37. The Alliance of Evil leader breaks into the facility to free the captured A-Squad Rangers that were imprisoned for treason. Jack suggests that it may be in the team’s best interest to capture them and the group formulate a plan while the A-Squad infiltrates the watchtower and attacks the guards. While discussing a strategy, Vesper jumps into action and lets out the battle cry “Leeroy Jenkins,” causing the other Rangers to have to chase after her.
After the battle, the Rangers manage to recapture the A-Squad Rangers with the help of a female S.P.D. Green Ranger, revealed to be Lina Song. The infuriated Leader found Joe’s tracker and crushes his Chrono Morpher so they could no longer be followed. With no idea what to do next, the Hyperforce Rangers decide to return to their time, in the year 3017, and catch up with Abigail at the Time Force Academy. The four cadets are promoted to Time Force officers and Jack is promoted to a high rank, then they all decide to split up to handle personal matters. Vesper confronts her parents with Jack and discovers that she was a synthetic organism pioneered by the late Dr Louis Fericks.
Episode 17 continues from Vesper’s discovery, where she also learns that she has four siblings whom she meets at the ruins of Fericks lab. After they reveal what Ransik had done 17 years ago, Spencer, Roy, Jocelyn and Josh attempt to get their revenge on the former crime boss. The Hyperforce Rangers promise to investigate but the synthetic siblings refuse to quell their rage and the Rangers attempt to stop them. As a team, they try to resolve the issues presented by the siblings but all escape aside from Josh. The Hyperforce Rangers head with Joe to City Hall to warn Director Ransik but Joe is anxious and reveals he used to be engaged to his daughter, Nadira.
The team find Ransik at an animal shelter as the reformed criminal helps mutants to rehabilitate. Joe arrives at his ex’s home and discovers that Nadira has left to help her father. The Rangers do their best to stop the siblings from attacking Ransik but only three were freed from their rage leading to Jocelyn being placed in stasis. Vesper states that she can’t be their sibling as she never grew up with them and leaves to clear her mind, while Joe finishes his conversation with Ransik and Nadira about why he disappeared. Later, Chief Patell informs the team about a janitor who reveals the plans of their alliance starting with amassing an armada of alien ships in the year 2014.
The Hyperforce Rangers find out about the Warstar Armada when they arrive in the year 2014, where they head to planet Andresia – home to one of the Rangers responsible for stopping the invasion of Earth. When they arrive on the planet’s surface, they meet Orion (Cameron Jebo), Super Megaforce Silver, who was fishing when they encountered him. Vesper informs Orion that she has a plan to deal with the Armada as she still has remnants of the Venjix virus within her. Orion informs Jack about how the Armada are taking the ore he once mined.
After the Rangers interact with each other, an Armada ship flies by and the six Rangers follow it to the woods. Eddie and Chloe manage to down an Armada ship but the others manage to escape and recover the X-Borg pilot. Vesper reconfigures the Venjix virus and installs it into the ship’s systems as a trojan horse. To preserve the timeline, Marv suggests Orion comes up with a cover story, leading to Orion deciding to say he used a slingshot. The Rangers take their leave as Orion uses the Armada ship to pursue those that destroyed his home.
The Rangers reenter the timestream with their Hyper Time Ship and detect another anomaly during the day of the Legendary Battle. The Ranger receives a message from “The Leader” stating that is too late to stop him. Chloe activates her Pink Battle Warrior armour and infiltrates Emperor Mavro’s lead Alliance Ship at the moment Troy and Orion crash into it. With Vesper’s help, Chloe activates the installed Venjix virus causing the lead ship to blast many of the smaller Armada ships. Scorpina and Velchanos attempt to abduct the remaining ships but are forced to retreat because of the virus.
Chloe manages to save Orion and Troy from the explosion of the lead ship with her whirlwind blast but suffered damage that forced her to demorph into her normal Ranger mode. After, the Rangers notice the large scale army and Eddie begs Alpha 55 to let them help. The Rangers witness the arrival of every legendary Ranger that came before the Super Megaforce team and aid many Rangers without being noticed. Dr. Oliver sees the team and suggests they should leave before they are noticed as it may alter the timeline. With the battle won, the Hyperforce Rangers return to the time stream to continue their mission.
The next edition of the Power Rangers Hyperforce Recap will continue chapter four with the special episodes that feature the Shattered Grid event. This also links into the story featured in the comics between comics Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #25 and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #26.

Power Rangers Unlimited: Hyperforce #1 will continue the story on July 19, 2023. The latest Boom! Studios comic written by Melissa Flores and Meghan Camarena (Hyperforce Pink) will continue from the events of the TTRPG series that ended with 25 episodes.
