The Power Rangers Cosmic Fury Morpher toy has been revealed with official images that have been shared on social media.
The future toy release is the first reveal of the upcoming series, Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, the 30th Anniversary of the Power Rangers franchise. These images give the first look at the Hasbro produced toy, intended for kids as the target audience, but has been revealed to differ significantly from the amazing design to be featured in the live action series. The packaging of the toy has also revealed the activation and features of the Morpher and how the new transformation device is going to be used.
Power Rangers Cosmic Fury will feature a new dino themed Morpher that merges the original design features of Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger with high tech upgrades for their exciting space adventure. The new Morpher was originally revealed alongside their new suits. These suits keep their original Dino Fury motifs but with new powers, and some with new colours. Closeup images of the Cosmic Fury Morpher were recently shared by Simon Bennett providing minor details of its use, alongside posts of the designer, Tracy Trix Collins. Collins is the production designer for the new series, that has also worked on past productions such as Power Rangers Beast Morphers and Power Rangers Dino Charge.

This new Morpher is also one of the original designs from the Power Rangers franchise that doesn’t have a Super Sentai counterpart. This release follows the unique line of releases, which have included Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue’s Titanium Morpher and Power Rangers Jungle Fury’s Solar Morphers. Many originals have also been featured in the Boom! Studios comics, such as the Omega Rangers, but fans are overjoyed as this latest addition is the main transformation device for a new upgraded Ranger series.

The Cosmic Fury Morpher from Power Rangers Cosmic Fury was revealed on social media, along with the features included within the new toy. This includes lifting open the compartment that houses an orb, which can be pressed to active sounds and lights for each Ranger. The toy will have over twenty lights and sounds that can be activated by the user but will also react to sounds from episodes of Dino Fury and Cosmic Fury. The box art for the toy was also revealed to have the new Cosmic Fury Red Ranger, marking the first time a female Ranger has been featured as the face of the brand.

Featuring over 20 lights and sounds, plus a choose your Ranger feature and unique sound-scanning technology that reactions to the programme. when activated, the Cosmic Morpher roleplay toy will ‘listen’ to Power Rangers episodes playing on your tv, tablet and more and react to what it ‘hears’. Tap the Cosmic Fury Orb in the centre of the Morpher to cycle through Ranger colours and choose your favourite, then hear their voice. Press the action buttons on the front of the Morpher to activate fighting sounds and flashes. The 30th series of Power Rangers finds the Dino Fury Rangers in space, battling the evil Lord Zedd. Instantly, the new Red Ranger catches your eye and it’s glorious to see this change with a female Ranger featured on the box art instead of a male one. Power Rangers has always features both male and female demographics but Amelia becoming the new Red Ranger highlights some incredible inclusion from the series.
The biggest impact the Morpher has made is in when comparing to the toy version and prop version. Fans were notably disappointed that paint that has been excluded from the toy. It’s also clear that features have been the focus, rather than appearance, as has been the case for many toys recently, especially Sixth Ranger Roleplay toys. The TV sound interaction is by far one of the most significant features that everyone will want to try and will be perfect to enhance the experience while watching.
Although not as accurate as fans hoped, the Cosmic Fury Morpher has revealed features of the new transformation device that have yet to be revealed. This includes the exclusion of a collecting gimmick (as there was in the Sentai counterpart, Kyuranger) and an area that opens to access the orb like feature on top. This activation featured for the toy may be the first reveal that teases how the Rangers might use it in the upcoming series. The new device seems to combine the Communicator with the Dino Fury Morpher in terms of functions, with the revealed usage explaining some of the partially hidden details seen in the prop. It will be curious to discover how accurate the toy will be compared to the show, but many fans are hoping for a Lightning Collection version featuring show accuracy.
A release date for the Power Rangers Cosmic Fury Morpher has yet to be announced and will likely release during Autumn/Winter 2023. The 30th Anniversary series of Power Rangers will be released on Netflix worldwide, with more announcements expected during Power Month in August.
