As Kamen Rider Geats moves into its final quarter, we have the trademark application for the next instalment of the Rider Series and it’s name is Kamen Rider Gotchard!
As is the mid spring tradition for the Kamen Rider series, Toei have submitted their trademark for the next series of Kamen Rider. Following the immensely popular Kamen Rider Geats will be the fifth Reiwa Era series, Kamen Rider Gotchard.
Apart from the name, we know absolutely nothing about the series. Based on the words decipherable within the name, I would hazard a guess that, based on the -ard suffix, the gimmick could be cards. The prefix Gotcha could mean a number of things. It is often associated with Gashapon machines in Japan, as well as collecting in general. Gotcha, or get, is often an exclamation called when a collector secures an item they need for their collection, or is rare in some way. Furthermore, gocha means to mix up (as the balls in a Gashapon machine are) and so a mixing or combination based form could be coming up.
All this, of course, is pure speculation, and we await the next news drop for more information.
