Apple TV+ have announced they’ll be working on a series for Legendary’s Monsterverse, rumoured to be titled Godzilla and the Titans.
The Monsterverse series, which is also being referred to as Godzilla and the Titans, is set after the events of Godzilla (released in 2014), and will primarily explore one family’s journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy connecting them to the organisation known as Monarch.

The series is being described to be more of like a really long movie, rather than episodic instalments, like some shows. Viewers are advised not to judge the series on an episode by episode basis, but that the series will be structured more like a movie, with a proper introduction, middle, and finale.

The cast includes Kurt Russell (The Thing, Stargate), Anna Sawai (F9), Kiersey Clemons (Zack Snyder’s Justice League), Joe Tippett (Mare of Easttown), Elisa Lasowski (Versailles), Ren Watabe (461 Days of Bento), Mari Yamamoto (Pachinko), and Wyatt Russell (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier).

Director Matt Shakman, best known for being at the helm of the Marvel series WandaVision, will be directing the first two of the season’s ten episodes and serves as executive producer alongside creators Chris Black, best known for Star Trek: Enterprise, and Matt Fraction, who worked on the Marvel Hawkeye series. Additional executive producers include Safehouse Pictures’ Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell and Toho Co. Ltd.’s Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita. The series is being produced for Apple TV+ by Legendary Television. At this time, there’s no set release date set.
