The highly corrupt older brother of Gira, King Racules Hastie (played by Masato Yano), has been revealed to be the silver rival warrior – OhKuwagataOhger – on OhSama Sentai KingOhger.
Who is Racules Hastie?
Racules is a ruthless, corrupt and ambitious king who craves world dominance with himself as the supreme ruler. Because he regards his citizens as little more than tools for his own benefit, he was willing to allow the Bugnarak to trample on the kingdom and massacre its people in order to have justifications for attacking other kingdoms in a war to unite Earth under his rule.
Despite the image he had painted of himself as a kind leader, he had already demonstrated early signs of being an abusive leader. For instance, he had extended the time during which taxes were collected from his citizens from a seasonal to a daily basis. Additionally, his treaty with the other nations was nothing more than an opportunity for him to seize power for himself. Racules was once a kind man, according to his people, but it is unclear what happened to him in the past that changed his original demeanour other than a desire for power.
Racules hates Gira Hastie for disobeying him and denying him the Kuwagata Ohger power that was rightfully his. As a result, he ordered his soldiers to capture Gira Hastie and have him killed in front of him along with the young man mentioned earlier.
As revealed in episode 5, Gira was revealed to be the younger brother of Racules and hid this information from Gira.
OhKuwagataOhger
After Gira takes the Ohger Calibur and KuwagataOhger power away from Racules, Racules eventually wields a golden sword from episode 4. We have come to learn that this is the Ohger Calibur Zero which enables the user to become OhKuwagataOhger. It was also revealed that the person who will become OhKuwagataOhger will be Racules.
OhKuwagataOhger will be this year’s rival warrior and will be the colour silver. This is a very different take from previous recent rivals who have mostly been the colour purple.
It is unknown at this moment if and what mecha OhKuwagataOhger will have. Although many believe that the castle of Shuggodam will become his mecha as this is silver and resembles a beetle.
It is also worth noting that OhKuwagataOhger will be considered as an additional warrior in the same manner as Dekamaster and Ryu Commander. This year’s sixth is rumoured to be a white warrior with a spider theme.
The Secret of King Racules
With that being said, the official KingOhger account has announced that KingOhger will be getting a spin off series on the TTFC YouTube Channel. This spin off will be called “The Secret of King Racules.” As this title suggests, this spin off will focus on King Racules and him becoming OhKuwagataOhger.
Ohsama Sentai KingOhger: The Secret of King Racules will be accessible for free on the official Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club (TTFC) YouTube channel on April 23rd at 10am JST. Viewers outside of Japan hoping to see the special may need a VPN in order to bypass the region locked content.
