KingOhger has finally revealed the full trio of legend Shugods with the upcoming release of the Scorpion and Grasshopper Shugods. The toys of the latest additions are part of the 13-Shugod combination that allows the King-Ohja Robo to form the Legend King-Ohja, using God Kabuto with the other golden additions. These were confirmed for release recently on social media, granting fans the first look at the new Shugods and the formations they create in the 47th Sentai series.
Ohsama Sentai KingOhger has previously teased the legend Shugods that merge with the 10-Gattai formation, King-Ohja. The royal and insect themed Super Sentai series teased the recently revealed additions during the premiere episode of the 47th Super Sentai, with God Kabuto recently appearing in Episode 3. The series revealed there are different types of Shugods including domestic Shugods, ‘Oversized’ Support Shugods, and partner Shugods that serve the Kings of each country. The King-Ohja is the main Robo of the series which combines the 5 partner Shugods with 5 other Shugods for the formation.
KingOhger Toys Reveals Legend Shugods and Legend King-Ohja
DX God Scorpion and DX God Hopper are the latest Shugods releasing for the Deluxe Robo toy line, which will be able to combine with the DX King-Ohja. These new additions and the previously released, God Kabuto will also be able to create the 13-combination formation called the Legend King-Ohja. Both the Scorpion and Grasshopper Shugods have a similar gold and black colour scheme, which can form a claw or body and leg armour for the King-Ohja, respectively.
Each Shugod will also have an action feature as seen for the DX God Kabuto, with a tail strike gimmick for the Scorpion and a jumping gimmick for the Grasshopper. Both Shugods to be released separately or a trio pack that also comes with the God Kabuto that was previously released. The lucky fans that order the latest release will also receive the Kabuto ShuGod Soul for those that purchase early.
The colour scheme for these Shugods are absolutely incredible as they have fantastic detailing but also have individual colours like seen for past mecha sets. This includes green for God Kabuto, Pink of God Hopper, and Cyan for God Scorpion, giving them defined individuality despite making a colour-matching supreme formation. The body and leg armour created by God Hopper is an instant favourite as the details are fantastic, while also adding leg-based weaponry.
The claw formed by the Scorpion isn’t the best design in terms of the over-extended claw, but the opposable thumb adds to the design perfectly. It’s also fantastic that it still allows the God Tentou to be combined, much like the God Kabuto. Overall, the conformed colour scheme is a perfect choice that makes the Legend King-Ohja look legendary. It will be interesting to see what other formation can be made in the future since the debut is so early, but there is certainly a lot of potential places for combing more such as the pegs on the feet of the Robo formed by God Kamikiri and God Hachi.
The KingOhger DX God Scorpion and DX God Hopper will be released in Japan on April 22, 2023, and via The Toku Source slightly afterwards. DX 3 Dai ShuGod Set with God Kabuto, God Hopper & God Scorpion will also be released on the same day. The Kabuto ShuGod Soul will be given to those that purchase early while stocks last for those that buy the 3-pack set.
