While those of us in the United Kingdom were sleeping, the annual press conference to fully launch the new Super Sentai series took place in Japan. At this event, the full cast of actors for the start of the series was revealed, including all five warriors as well as their supporters and nemeses.
KuwagataOhger
Played by Taisei Sakai, Gira is the orphaned, self-proclaimed king of Shugoddam. He is often misunderstood as he will usually choose the role of a villain when playing with children. Despite this, he is a kind and considerate ruler; a worthy leader of KingOhger.
TonboOhger
Played by Auto Watanabe, Yanma Gust is the king and General Secretary of Nikosopa, a land of technology. He started from the bottom and now he’s here. Yanma rose from poverty using his brains rather than his brawn.
KamikiriOhger
Played by Erika Murakami, Himeno Ran is the Queen of Ishabana, a land of Arts & Medicine. Himeno is the prototypical self-important princess; a character selfish on the surface but compassionate at heart. She won’t hesitate to save a person in need and uses her skills as a doctor to do just that.
PapilionOhger
The icy Rita Kaniska, played by Yuzuki Hirakawa, is the ruler and judge of Gokkan, a frozen land. She is the personification of the land that she hails from, cold and hard but is also sympathetic and just, always passing fair and impartial judgements on others.
HachiOhger
Portrayed by Sou Kaku, Kaguragi Dybowski is the Lord of Tofu agriculture land. Despite being a nobleman, he is also a bit of a con artist who uses manipulation and double dealing to achieve his goals. He’s definitely not afraid to get his hands dirty, literally and metaphorically, to get what he wants.
Earth Empire Bugnarok
Emperor Deznarak, voiced by Tomoyuki Shimura, is the eighth ranked ruler of Bugnarok. He plans to gain more power for himself by shifting the leadership of both the Bugnarok and the human lands.
Chancellor Kamejim, voiced by Shinichiro Miki, is Bugnarok’s researcher and scientist. He can grant powers to others using insects and can even harness their power to grow others to gigantic proportions.
